Abbey Road shortlisted for Brick Awards 2016

We are delighted to see our Abbey Road, Barking Cultural Industries Quarter scheme shortlisted for Best Large Housing Development in this year’s Brick Awards.

Completed in two phases for Bouygues Development (subsequently rebranded as Linkcity) working with LB Barking & Dagenham, Abbey Road is a mix of 269 PRS apartments and creative industry accommodation set around a series of courtyards and riverside spaces.

Our design uses a palette of brick and glass in response to its river wharf context, taking inspiration from its industrial nature and robust detailing of the surrounding 19th century wharf buildings. The development creates a vibrant and unique place to live and work for the residents and tenants as well as providing a creative hub and destination for visitors and the local community.

This year sees the Brick Awards celebrate its 40th Birthday. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on the 10th November 2016.
