Peter Cartwright Peter is the director in charge of the Leeds office and is presently in charge of projects ranging in values from £1million up to £30million including work in the private and public sectors. He also gives lectures and seminars on the work of the practice and has acted as an external visiting critic at Schools of Architecture including The University of Nottingham where he studied.
Prior to forming Cartwright Pickard Architects Peter has worked with a number of internationally acclaimed architects, including; Daryl Jackson in Melbourne Australia, Frei Otto in Stuttgart Germany, Skidmore Owings and Merrill in Chicago USA, and Michael Hopkins and Partners in London.
The projects currently being undertaken under Peter’s direction include large scale masterplans for low energy mixed use developments. These include major residential developments and urban renewal schemes incorporating offices, civic buildings, residential and creation of large scale public realm spaces.
Peter has a particular strength in the co-ordination and detailed design of large high quality projects. He has recently completed a masterplan for a mixed-use development in Wakefield and is presently looking at a number of large brownfield masterplan site areas in the North of England.
