Steve Durn
Stephen joined Cartwright Pickard architects in 1998 to work on a £120 million masterplan and headquarters development in Newcastle and Sunderland for the DSS and Inland Revenue. The project consisted of nine office blocks together with ancillary buildings including restaurants, crèches and a sports hall.
He has developed considerable expertise in the design of residential developments including affordable, market sale and student accommodation.
Stephen is Project Director in Charge of a major £250 million mixed use urban regeneration project in Reading which is now on site and approaching completion. This project includes a £25 million market sale apartment building and a £12million keyworker apartment building for 100 apartments.
Stephen also designed and delivered and award winning affordable modular apartment building in York for Yorkshire Housing Association this building went on to win several awards.
Prior to joining Cartwright Pickard architects Stephen spent eight years working in the London office of Building Design Partnership. Projects completed included the master planning of a major retail development in Southampton, the new number one court and associated buildings for the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Association and a retail/transport scheme in Maidstone.
