Cartwright Pickard are very proud to be taking part in the RIBA Student Mentoring programme to facilitate successful collaboration between academia, RIBA and practice.
Our Manchester office are delighted to be working with two talented young architecture students from Manchester Metropolitan University and our first session took place this week, joining us at the office for a design review on some of our current projects and to discuss CP’s approach to designing and developing projects from inception through to completion. We also talked about their current projects at University, and suggested ways in which our experience of practice might help them develop their work.
A site visit to our XYZ building, one of our key schemes in Manchester, explained how the project was developed and built, looking at key features of the building and the design issues involved in this 22,600m2 commercial workplace building. This sparked some really interesting discussions around design, materiality, building methodologies and environmental impact.
Looking forward to the next session!
