Location Canning Town, London
Construction work is underway on 335 new apartments in Canning Town, east London. The Heartwell Buildings comprises two 25-storey towers which sit on top of a 4-storey podium housing a 152-bedroom hotel, gym and commercial space including cafes and bars.
This build-to-rent scheme is part of the wider masterplan for Brunel Street Works which has been conceived as an exemplar mixed-use urban quarter for this area of east London. Located next to Canning Town Station in Newham, the scheme includes 975 new homes and has been designed collaboratively by JTP, GRID and Cartwright Pickard.
The Heartwell Building's principal façade defines the eastern and northern edge of the site, fronting onto Silvertown Way and Canning Town Station. The rear elevation is equal in its ambition to present an attractive frontage to the public passing on the DLR.
Generous entrance lobbies with a 24/7 concierge will welcome residents who will have access to a high quality landscaped and sheltered roof terrace with exceptional views across London. They will also have access to communal areas such as a residents’ lounge, private dining rooms and cinema room which will act as a social focus for tenants.
