James Pickard made Honorary Professor at Glasgow School of Art

James Pickard has been named an Honorary Professor at the Glasgow School of Art (GSA) for his contribution to the Mackintosh School of Architecture.

The honorary professorship recognises the commitment and contribution James has made to the school's undergraduate and postgraduate architecture courses over the last decade.

The Mackintosh School of Architecture is the 4th best Architecture School in the UK and the best in Scotland according to Architects' Journal. It is regularly ranked in the top 10 architecture schools by all of the major university league tables.

In addition to James's contribution to lectures, studio tutorials and assessments, he has also initiated a number of Knowledge Transfer Partnership research projects with the GSA. In 2016, we undertook a study to explore why new homes achieve such poor levels of indoor air quality and we are currently engaged in a research project that aims to integrate whole life cost data with BIM.
