Inspiring the next generation of Architects at Brunel Street Works

Over 135 visitors from local primary schools, technical colleges and job centres visited Brunel Street Works as part of an Open Doors Week initiative organised by Galliford Try Partnerships.

Open Doors offers a unique chance for children and young people to go behind the scenes of live construction sites, offices, factories, and training centres across Great Britain with the aim of inspiring them to pursue a career in the construction industry. 290 sites were open across Great Britain in March 2019.

Our Project Director for Brunel Street Works David Roberts took part in the event alongside colleagues from Galliford Try Partnerships, Jenkins & Potter and Hunters Architects.

He said: "It was great to see so many young people keen to learn about the role of an architect and how they work with the other members of the design team on a major regeneration project such as Brunel Street Works."
