Rob Phillips featured in HBD blog on next generation net zero carbon workspace, Island

This week, Rob Phillips caught up with HBD to discuss the various reference points serving as inspiration for Manchester's next-gen workspace, Island.

Rob, leading on the highly sustainable project, has drawn inspiration from the City's long affiliation with William Morris, his thinking 'A Factory As It Might Be' - calling for fewer divisions between workplace, home and leisure space - and the British textile arts movement of the late 19th Century.

References to these can be found throughout the building - from perforated screens to the layout.
