Ian Wright

Senior Associate

Ian joined the practice in 1997 between his degree and Diploma studies and was a key member of the team working on the major DSS Headquarters project.

After completing his architectural qualification in 2000, Ian rejoined the practice and played a key role in establishing the Leeds office. He has worked on and managed a variety of projects across a range of sectors including residential, leisure, education and workplace. He has a particular interest in the nature of construction and the use of innovative techniques such as off-site prefabrication.

Ian was a senior member of the teams designing and delivering award-winning Civic Offices at Wakefield and Doncaster Council’s new Civic Offices. Both are BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and the Wakefield Civic Office was awarded ‘Best Corporate Workspace in the North’ by the British Council for Offices.

He is currently part of the team for the development of Yarm School in North Yorkshire. Our proposals will improve the accessibility of the school and provide new on-site accommodation, a purpose built flexible performance space and a new learning resource centre.

A talented designer, Ian has a particular focus on technical design and project delivery within the practice, and is the practice’s internal leader on CDM and the Principal Designer role.
