Steve has worked at Cartwright Pickard since 1998, joining the practice to work on the £120m headquarters for the DSS and Inland Revenue.
He has delivered projects across all sectors, with particular accomplishment in delivering successful residential schemes both for PRS and in the emerging Build-to-rent sector. He has also proven skilled at leading refurbishment and retrofit projects, an increasingly important skill as the architecture industry grows its understanding of embodied carbon.
As Project Director, he led the £11m refurbishment and retrofitting of the Grade II Listed Ivor House as part of Cartwright Pickard’s wider Lambeth Civic Quarter masterplan, creating 26 high quality residences that celebrate the Art Deco design of the building. He was also the Project Director on a series of interior refurbishment and fit out projects, overseeing the conversion of Festival House in Cheltenham and Broadwalk House in Exeter into modern, flexible co-working offices while retaining the existing buildings.
In his role as Associate Director Steve has practice wide responsibilities including post planning services, appointments and quality assurance.
Prior to joining the practice, Steve spent eight years working for BDP.
