Recruitment Privacy Statement

This privacy notice tells you about the information Cartwright Pickard (the ‘Company’) may collect and process about you during the recruitment process. In collecting this information we are acting as a data controller and, by law, we are required to provide you with information about us, about why and how we use your data, and about the rights you have over your data.

Due to the size and nature of our business and the type of data it processes we are not required to have a nominated data protection officer, so any enquiries about our use of your personal data should be addressed to the contact details above.

Enquiries will be handled in accordance with our data protection policy and procedures.

What personal data do we collect and why?

As part of our recruitment process we will collect personal data including your name, email address, postal address, and contact telephone number. We will also ask you to provide documents such as your CV and portfolio of work which may contain additional personal data about you. This data is collected to facilitate the recruitment process and to ensure we can meet our legal obligations when hiring a new employee.

How long do we retain your data?

All information you provide to us during the recruitment process will be held and processed by us in accordance with the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation.

Any personal data you provide during the course of applying for employment with us will be retained for a period of 6 months after we have concluded the recruitment process for the position to which you applied, unless we are required to retain specific information for a longer period by law. If you communicate with us via email, any information and data included in your correspondence will be retained in a secure electronic archive for a period of 12 years in accordance with our standard Company email retention policy.

If your application for employment is successful and you become an employee of the Company, we will retain any personal data provided during the recruitment process in accordance with our separate Employee Privacy Notice, a copy of which will be provided to you upon joining the Company.

Automated data processing

We do not use any of the data you provide to make any automated decisions that might affect you. This means that we do not rely on computerised processes or algorithms to automate any decisions that may have a significant effect on you as a job applicant.

How is your information stored and secured?

Any personal data we collect from you is stored and processed on IT systems based within the European Economic Area (EEA) that are controlled and maintained by the Company. In some cases your information may also be held as hard copy records stored in secure filing locations within the EEA. Access to these electronic and physical storage locations and your personal data is restricted to only those employees of the Company who have a legitimate requirement to as part of our recruitment process.
