Tried and tested timber frame technology has been carefully developed to maximise the benefits of modern manufacturing methods and advanced production techniques. The single most important aim of the Optima Homes® approach is to provide the customer with better value for money and lasting improvements in quality.
Optima Homes® is an integrated housebuilding system that provides a flexible kit of parts bringing together advanced timber frame manufacturing methods, bathroom and kitchen pod technology, and co-ordinated mechanical and electrical ducting. The system can be erected by specialist teams anywhere in the United Kingdom.
Offsite Construction
There are several important design principles that have driven the design development of the Optima Homes® approach:
- Maximise customer choice in the building from specification to the internal and external appearance – prefabrication is not uniformity
- Provide affordable customised solutions through the use of a diverse kit of parts based on a range of high quality standard components and products
- Maximise internal flexibility for future changes in partition layout and arrangement of room
- Radically reduce time spent on site during construction
- Greatly improve construction quality and achieve defect free buildings on handover
Delivering the Optimum Choice
The Optima Homes® System has been designed to highly integrate M&E services, superstructure and envelope of a home. The key elements of the Optima Homes system include:
- Drylined “closed” conduited external wall panels
- Factory fitted prefinished external windows and doors
- Closed panel internal walls
- Post-joist floor cassettes
- Prefabricated timber staircases
- Roof cassette or whole erected roof
- Bathroom pod
- Kitchen pod
- M&E service ducting
Benefits of the Optima Homes approach
Maximise internal flexibility for future changes in partition layout and arrangement of rooms, due to few internal load bearing walls and clear span floors.
- Radically reduce time spent on site during construction
- Greatly improve construction quality and achieve defect-free buildings on handover
- Provide a technically advanced approach that will minimise energy use and CO2 emissions in order to reduce the impact on the environment
